ReminderFox

Filed under: General, System of a Download, Firefox Extension - Shuai @ 2:14 am

ReminderFox

Extensions. The Mozilla Foundation was really thinking with this.
Now these extensions turn into almost full programs that have a lot of functionality.

Case in point: ReminderFox.

ReminderFox is a Firefox extension that displays and manages lists of date-based reminders and ToDo’s. ReminderFox does not seek to be a full-fledged calendar system. In fact, the target audience is anybody that simply wants to remember important dates (birthdays, anniversaries, etc) without having to run a fat calendar application.

This Firefox extension is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Thank you Mozilla and Developers!

Konfabulator: Whatever You Want It To Be

Filed under: General, System of a Download - Shuai @ 2:17 am

Konfabulator 2.11 is this month’s Software (which isn’t updated a lot.)
This awesome and awesomely free program lets you display beautiful “widgets”, which are little applications that are displayed on your computer.

Konfabulator runs on Windows and Mac, and is totally free.

Konfabulator comes with a bunch of awesome widgets such as wireless network indicator thingy, battery level indicator, weather, Yahoo! search, calendar, digital clock, and more. You can set them transparent or translucent, set the z-order (mouseover for def) and more.

You can also get widgets from the Widget Gallery, at www.widgetgallery.com, where developers contribute self-made widgets for the whole widget community.

Plus, there is a mode called “konsposé”, where you can display all the widgets open even if their z-order isn’t always on top. You can also set widgets to display only in konsposé, so you don’t get to see them all the time. You can show konsposé by pressing F8, or your previously set key.
Konsposé Example

This is one of my favorite programs. Now a Yahoo! product (Konfabulator was bought by Yahoo! not too long ago) this is a great program.

I suggest you get it!

And finally, our download link: Konfabulator.com

Filed under: General, System of a Download - Shuai @ 6:31 pm

Here you can download or view the PDF File on spyware and trojans, today’s worst internet threats.

It took me a long time to type this up. There is also a Creative Commons license included, allowing you to to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work.

View the page for the e-pamphlet here:

Today’s WrapUp

Conspiracy.
People say that there’s a Google Calendar coming along.  What do you think?
We already have Micro$oft Works calendar, Mozilla Sunbird [yea!], but do we need a Google one?
Let me direct you to my friend Jeremy Zawondy whoever he is:

Johnny English is in England and stars Mr. Bean working for the MI7.  Agent One is killed, and there is an explosion that kills all the replacement agents.
Except one….
You can probably guess, but go right ahead and Rent or On Demand it, and post your comments here!

Sorry, I don’t have the Photo-A-Days yet.

Download of the Day!
Kapsules. Widgets. Dig it.
Kapsules is a program that uses widgets.
Display the widgets as a clock, weather thing, sports thing, and more.
Go to the widget forge to get more widgets.
If you are good with scripting, you can make your own widgets!

I think this is better than widgetset competitor Konfabulator, because it has like a 15day trial.
These widgets are also fast and run silently in the background.

Get Kapsules!

Not too Liberal….Literal!
I’ll try to make these on my own, but now….

44 spam today. Just checked mail in a long time.

Today’s Download:
Gmail Drive!
Turn your gmail account into a 1gb hard drive!
Download Here

Ever since Google started to offer users a GMail e-mail account, which includes storage space of a 1000 megabytes, you have had plenty of storage space but not a lot to fill it up with. With GMail Drive you can easily copy files to your GMail account and retrieve them again.
When you create a new file using GMail Drive, it generates an e-mail and posts it to your account. The e-mail appears in your normal Inbox folder, and the file is attached as an e-mail attachment. GMail Drive periodically checks your mail account (using the GMail search function) to see if new files have arrived and to rebuild the directory structures. But basically GMail Drive acts as any other hard-drive installed on your computer.
You can copy files to and from the GMail Drive folder simply by using drag’n'drop like you’re used to with the normal Explorer folders.

Keep in mind that this is freeware and may include spyware and/or adware. Be sure to read the End User Liscense Agreement.

Today’s Site of the Day:
SHOCKSTART
Where you can manage your links online!
It’s like an online bookmark folder.
Just need a valid email address, and you’re ready to start linking!

Put the shockstart quicklink on your bookmark folder in IE, or the bookmarks toolbar in Firefox, and you get a popup that adds a link quickly.

Thursday’s Download of the Day! …and link!

Filed under: General, The Daily Link!, System of a Download - Shuai @ 9:05 pm

Yeah, tomorrow’s software, today!….

I’m just going to do tomorrow’s today.

Today’s Download of the Day is….
Microsoft Virtual Desktop Manager!
For Windows, of course.

Use up to 4 [yes, that’s FOUR] virtual desktops! You now have the virtual power of FOUR desktops!
HAHA! Never thought this was possible? Now it is!
[I sound like an infomercial….]

This is one of the many great powertoys for Windows XP!

But it gets better! Click the green button on the taskbar and see an overview of all four desktops! Click on one of them, and you go to that desktop!

WOW!
To get this powertoy, go to the website, go on the right side, see where it says deskman, and click download.

Then, install it, and then right click on your taskbar and go to toolbars, then click Desktop Manager. Then, it’s right next to the system tray!

Here’s some screenshots!
msvdm_s.gif (GIF Image, 300x225 pixels)

You can also have different desktop wallpapers for the different desktops!
msvdm.jpg (JPEG Image, 573x591 pixels)

You can also configure the shortcut keys!

Here’s a japanese screenshot:
msvdm2.gif (GIF Image, 356x168 pixels)

So what are you waiting for….pick up MSVDM!

Also, here’s the daily link….

Here’s a place where you can get torrents for bittorrent.

Cool!

!!!!
Today’s Download of the Day is:
BitTorrent!

This I already explained, along with eXeem.

Today’s Daily Link is:
iSketch!
iSketch is kind of like online pictionary, only, er, online. You play it by going to
iSketch.net and login with a username [no password].

Then you see lots of lobbies, and then you go into one. You just guess what the drawer is trying to draw, and if you guess right, you get points.

When you get there, it’s easier to understand because it’s pretty self-explanatory. You can also make your own rooms and train-draw.

It’s fun, and that’s why it’s today’s Download of the Day

DOWNLOAD OF THE DAY!!!!

Filed under: System of a Download - Shuai @ 8:40 am

….day….day….day….

ClipboardBuddy!
ClipboardBuddy is a clipboard helper where you can hold up to 20 clips!

You know when you press control+c or copy something, then paste it, then you copy another thing, you lose the old one? Well, no more! ClipboardBuddy lets you to hold up to 20 clips!

This is extremely useful.

One little teeny con you have to work out.
When installed, to register, hold your mouse on the left side of the screen. Then, on the row of buttons on the bottom, click the third one, with the gear. Then, click on Register or something, the first button on the bottom. Then, click Get Free Key. It’ll open a new web window where you have to key in your serial number. After that, it’ll show you an activation key where you will put that key in the place that says "Activation Key". See? No name, no email, no nothing, just a serial number.

Well, how good is this?
I give it….
9.9/10.
One little con that takes 3 minutes.

Best program ever.

HACKS FOR THIS PROGRAM:
Go into the settings. In the middle, there’s a place where it says "Command" and a text box.
Put any of these in. You don’t have to press enter when finished putting one in.

+picture (add your own wallpaper)
-picture (delete current wallpaper)
+lines (show lines)*
-lines (no lines)
+images (capture images)*
-images (do not capture images)

+warn (warn when the clipboard has reached 20 items)
-warn (roll items off the list without warning)*
+saveonexit (saves contents of clipboard buddy for reloading next time it is opened by you, multi-user support)*
-saveonexit (do not save contents on exit)
=cb (load Clipboard Buddy wallpaper)

EASTER EGGS:
In the same command place, put these:
=100 (Gives you 100 maximum items instead of the default 20)
=tss (Loads TechTV’s ‘The ScreenSavers’ wallpaper - The developer’s favorite show )

And you say…100? THAT’S AWESOME!!!!

I have to try that hack right now.
IT WORKS! BOTH EASTER EGGS!
